Eleni's academic and professional background is in Education and Media. As a proud second-generation Greek-Australian, her first teaching post was as a foundation teacher at St Andrew's Grammar, where she was instrumental in establishing and growing the School in its early formative years.
Her career took a turn towards Media, where she was a producer/presenter for MRG International, producers of lifestyle programs and documentaries for Channel 9 and worldwide networks. Her media years saw her travel extensively to regional, national, and international locations.
Eleni has always been actively involved in her local community. Following a four-year term as an elected member of the Hellenic Community of WA, in 2005 Eleni decided to run as a Perth City Councillor . She was elected and then re-elected in 2009 with a majority of the votes.
During her eight- year term as a City of Perth Councillor, Eleni served and chaired numerous boards and committees, including the City of Perth's Planning and Marketing committees. She also represented the City of Perth on the Tamala Park Regional Council since its inception in 2006, through to 2013.
Her passion for the revitalization of our City both culturally and through urban design, led to her actively supporting City based projects such as the Northbridge Piazza, State Theatre Centre, Link project and Elizabeth Quay to mention a few.
In 2013, Eleni's passion for the City guided her nomination to represent the Western Australian Liberal Party as the State candidate for Perth. Winning the Seat of Perth and representing the Perth electorate in the Western Australian Legislative Assembly through to 2017 was indeed an honour and tremendous experience.
In August of 2017, Eleni commenced as CEO of The 500 Club. Her long-standing membership of the Club combined with her business, Media and Political experience have helped navigate the Club through challenging political and economic times. Her focus has been to modernize Club systems , grow membership and strengthen membership/political communications and relationships, whilst building the Club's finances by providing a diverse range of political and business networking events. She absolutely loves her current CEO role, which allows her to continue strong ties with her former political colleagues, whilst forging strong relations and friendships within Perth's elite business community .
Eleni's interests away from work include enjoying quality family time, catching up with friends, reading, swimming, and walking.
